ABRANGE - Brazilian Association of Non Genetically Modified Grain Producers - was established in 2008. The major objective of the Association is to present the consumer market the consolidation of the non modified grains and by-products sector as well as to secure a consistent offer of products.
The organization goals are:
To foster the plantation, the development and the production improvement of non genetically modified grains processing in Brazil;
To permanently promote initiatives aiming the consumption increase
and the improvement of the products' quality;
To act as a reference center of consultation for new national and
international clients' demands;
To introduce non genetically modified products that also represent productive, environmental and social sustainability;
To promote, carry out and advertise researches and studies, to organize documentation and to develop projects applied to the productive chain of non genetically modified grains;
To locate and quantify the most important non genetically modified products consumers market, to help with the strategy elaboration of the productive sector;
To work for the certification of the different parts of the productive chain;
There is an increasing demand for those
products and so far all the measures to comply with those needs were
done individually and uncoordinated by single companies. The European
market, the biggest consumer of non genetically modified products,
has come to question the existence of a systematic and secure offer
of grains and its by-products and derivatives of non genetically modified
soy and corn. The main mission of ABRANGE is to unify these efforts,
aiming to become the representative organization in this sector, bringing
together everyone from seed producers to the processing industry in
a constant task to improve all the segments of the productive chain.
